I booked a car to pick up at Sanford and drop off at Clearwater/St Pete airportwith Avis. I was never told I had to use a credit card because of this. I only keep a small credit card for emergencies. I had 265 available on it and my reservation was 275. The manager wouldn’t waive the credit card requirement (even though I had a flight itinerary showing we fly out from Clearwater). She could have done this. She also wouldn’t lower the rate 10 so that we could use my credit card. She could have also done this. We were 12 hours from home with no car. Shame on you Vanessa and Avis. Thanks to Thrifty/Dollar Rental for being human beings and making sure we could get to our destination. I will NEVER use Avis again. My loyalty is now with Dollar Rent a car!

Everything was great! The SUV we got was clean and new. The process checking in and out was quick. Josh greeted us with a smile at 1130pm. He recommended a vehicle and we loved it! He was a great start to our vacation!
I having given up hope of every seeing that cash deposit again and I'm warning all uses to be careful of these fraudsters.
As I had no credit card on me and they would not accept debit card. I had to use some holiday money to pay a cash deposit of $250 dollars. Which I paid as I was told a cheque would be sent back to my home address in the UK once rental was completed. .......still not received any type of refund.
Came from the UK and rented a car (Nissan bolt ) which we ordered a much bigger car and paid fully online.
Arrived at desk and rude staff is the nice way of putting it.
Now the nighmate began. After two months on from a great holiday and sending over 10 emails to Eyed Abuhannoud (location manger ) I am still without my deposit.
Well after renting the car, after 3 days rental the engine management light came on. Which due to the stress of renting the car in the first place I left it alone..far as contacting dollar.
I would recommend letting customers coming in on a late flight that the staff stays an hour past the last plane's arrival. Our plane was due in at 11:17 pm and the rep on the 800 Line said they leave at 1130 and if we didn't make it we would have to come back the next day to get our car. That stressed me out up until we got in line at the rental counter. Being that our hotel was 45 min away, I didn't know how we were going to get there without paying high prices and found ourselves rushing thru the airport. But Josh reassured us and made our whole stay more pleasant.
So glad we rented from Dollar. Pickup was easy and fast. Toyota minivan was clean and roomy enough to hold all our luggage. Best of all Dollar was great to change our reservation after the airline cancelled our flight on Monday. We were able to change our reservation without any problems. Great customer service.
After two weeks of a great holiday. We finally took the hump of scrap metal back in working order and caught out flight home.
