Thank you Galileo for breaking the mold of common core and striving for excellence in all that you do.

I have a 6 y/o that has just completed her first yr at Galileo and will be going into the 1st grade this coming 2017-2018 school yr. Currently, we are zoned for A/B schools but I felt they were lacking the personal touch so I considered private schools and charters. We applied to several Seminole county charter schools and decided to try Galileo. Although the lottery process is frustrating in itself, we were blessed enough to get in. I don't think I could have picked a better school for my daughter. The teachers meet every child where they are at, whether that's above level or below. They understand the importance of meeting the child where the child is at in each individual subject. My daughter tested at level upon entering the school and completed the academic year well above level in all areas tested.

Not only were the teachers good at academics they also focused on the social and emotional growth of the children. They understand that each child is an individual and encourage it. At the same time, they encourage independence, problem solving, and reasoning skills. Sometimes its tough to see your children struggle but in the end my daughter has developed a LOVE of learning and understands the importance of self advocacy and independence.

Awesome school. Best in Seminole County.

It is the best school that I have ever gone to

This is the best school around. During the first month of school, the teacher had the children go out in the rain (light rain no thunder & no danger at all) dig in the dirt to look for bugs that they could find. What really!!! No school out there would do this BUT Galileo did. I knew for sure this was going to be an awesome school & it has not disappointed me for the last 3 years & 2 children. Don't even think twice, this is the BEST school out there EVER!!!! Our principal (Michelle Nunez) is the BEST...she is out on the playground playing soccer during recess, running with the Cross Country team, etc. What principal does that? Our principal does, that's who! I love this school & the entire staff & faculty. Our teachers truly do care & teach each child as they need to be taught to learn & have fun while doing it. I am very proud of this school & so are my children.

During my two years of expierence at galileo, it was pure h*ll I am only stating true facts here so your child won't expierence the same. We came here because it was more closer to our home and my mom didn't want to drive that much. The first thing the principle said to my mom during the tour was " If your children went to a normal public school they will struggle here." And we went to a private montesorri, which had high academic skills . The first couple of weeks went by fine, I had devolped a crush, and once I had confessed my feelings he took advantge of it and started to bully me. I had reported this to the teachers and counselers but they just talked to the kid and never did anything serious. My brother was also being bullied by a kid- physicly. The teachers did nothing and so we reported it. Our last year there, there was an incedent where I was hurt serverly and I couldn't call my parents for help nor recive an ice pack. I then was accused of "bullying" someone because of my injury. So my parents decided that they had enough of galileo and we transferred to a diffrent school. The academics are watched closely and the teachers are kind and understanding but they don't watch closely to when a child gets hurt or if your child is getting bullied they honestly don't do anything. Sure they talk about twice a year but it doesn't stop. The food there isn't that good either, the mash potatoes are raw and hard and the chicken nuggets are still pink inside. There were also many bugs in the old building. Overall I give this one star, maybe if some people weren't inrolled there and some teachers could open their eyes a bit more we could of stayed and this school would be an overall 5.

As far as the personal touch, soon after the year began I noticed almost all the elementary teachers knew me and my daughters first and last names. The principal, counselors, and all the many staff assistances knew us as well. They hold regular parent workshops covering subjects from How to encourage your child's creativity to Social-Emotional Development. I LOVE IT!
